It's part of our commitment to unite the world under One Vision of action-oriented social responsibility. ACTION-ORIENTED SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY ACTION-ORIENTED SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY See Our Vision for Positive Change AOIsustainability.com Changde project was included into the 2013 program of CDTM for projects of scien- tific research and technological development of tobacco machinery. Besides fulfilling the project of designing the ZJ116, the company has also inde- pendently developed the ZJ17 cigarette rolling and tipping machine for making narrow cigarettes and clove cigarettes, the ZJ112 cigarette rolling and tipping unit, and the YF27C new-type filter tip pneumatic transmission device. It is important to note that though the YF27C has a designed transmission speed of 2,500 filter tips per minute, its prototype was still stable while operating at the speed of 2,800 filter tips per minute during the appraisal process. Improvement of existing equipment While developing many new products over recent years, CDTM, in accordance with the market demand, has pertinently made improvement of the designs of its existing leading cigarette making machinery. For example, it technologically transformed the ZJ112 cigarette rolling and tipping machine, improving the cigarette testing system, and increasing the functions of removing foreign objects from cut tobacco, flexible ejection of cigarettes at lower levels, etc. It also significantly improved the ZJ17 ciga- rette rolling and tipping machine, optimizing and improving its knife feed unit, cut tobacco recycling device with cyclone dust removal, etc. These improvements have not only contributed to a practical improvement of the quality and performance of the machinery, but have also guaranteed a stable supply of individualized equipment for refurbishment on the part of tobacco manufacturing enterprises. "Our aim is to satisfy customer demand" Satisfying the demand of its customers is very important to CDTM. Armed with this principle for its business development, the company has kept strengthening efforts for improving the quality of its products. In 2013, Changsha Cigarette Factory of China Tobacco Hunan Industrial Co., Ltd. installed a ZJ116-ZB48 ultrahigh speed cigarette rolling and tipping unit manufactured by CDTM. After a while, the factory also chose a new type of tipping paper. It then became necessary to conduct a refurbishment of the recently installed unit. CDTM assisted the relevant technological taskforce, effectively solving the problems of failure to remove substandard cigarettes, damage to separate wheels because of insufficient lubrication and so on. In 2013, based on suggestions from its customers, CDTM completed seven major projects aimed at improving the quality of tobacco machinery, including the refurbish- ment of the YF26 filter tip receiving station and addressing the problem of ash leakage from the ZJ112 unit. "Although those were no easy tasks and there was a shortage of necessary human resources, the research and development departments of the company took the lead in establishing a number of taskforces for solving difficult technological problems and product quality improvement bringing together employees from multiple departments of the company. They took charge of the work and succeeded," said Liang Wei, In December 2013, Changde Tobaco Machinery's TJ91 cigar wrapper forming machine passed appraisal by a panel of experts for technical acceptance.
