24 tobaccoasia By Eric Piras In the past few years, we've seen a growing num- ber of cigar divans and lounges opening in various cities, with a diverse crowd, a good selection of pu- ros, and drink lists to match! In Hong Kong, land of skyscrapers and con- trasts, a large selection of cigar divans is on offer. A definite favorite for entertaining Western guests is the Red Chamber: its Shanghai-inspired décor wows everyone and it's in the middle of Central, the busi- ness district. Another wonderful option in a nearby building is the P&L Club Cohiba Atmosphere. This members- only club is beautifully decorated in a 30's theme (both outlets have been designed by Sir David Tang, like most of Pacific Cigar Co Ltd.'s cigar di- vans) and has a wonderful sunny terrace where you can soak up the Hong Kong vibes. Now that smoking restrictions are fully in place in most countries of the world, it's becoming an increas- ing challenge to find space to smoke a cigar in peace. However, Asia is fortunate to be one of the last few places where one can appreciate a cigar in nice surroundings, and Eric Piras knows where to go. Where to Smoke a Cigar in Asia-Pacific?
