72 | Overdrive | August 2015 Custom Rigs 10-truck fleet out of North Carolina gets its first two wins at last month's Meritor ChampTruck World Series races BY JAMES JAILLET D espite a down- pour and a slick track, small fleet owner Allen Boles' Jupiter Motorsports team picked up its first win of the 2015 Meri- tor ChampTruck World Series season, winning the points-earning race in the Independence Day weekend races at Char- lotte Motor Speedway. Boles' friend and teammate Ricky "Rude" Proffitt drove the No. 14 Peterbilt to victory in the so-called Podium Race July 4. And following up that win was a Podium Race victory by Boles himself at the St. Louis races July 18 at Gateway Motorsports Park. Boles drives the No. 3 Peterbilt 359 racer. At the Charlotte races, Minimizer's Brad Klem- mensen won second in the No. 54 Volvo, and Tommy Boileau, in the No. 23 Volvo, won third. In St. Louis, Hun- garian racer Krisztian Szabo, who raced the No. 11 Optima Batter- ies Freightliner following a crash with his No. 23 Bendix-sponsored Volvo, placed second in the Podium Race. Mack tech Mike Morgan of Nash- ville, Tenn., finished third with his No. 88 Mack. At the season's end – with a set of W.T.I.
