FIRST CLASS l 25 New 58-inch Sleeper for Model 579 Ideal for weight conscious short- and regional-haul oper- ations, Peterbilt has intro- duced a new 58-inch sleeper for its Model 579 in both low- and mid-roof configurations. The new sleeper, that is now available for order, reduces weight by up to 100 pounds (versus the 80-inch sleeper) while including all of the driver-pleasing amenities found on Peterbilt's larger sleepers. "The new 58-inch sleeper is designed with an open, spa- cious feel that drivers expect from a Peterbilt sleeper. It's thoughtfully engineered to include ample storage, driver comforts and exceptional fit and finish for quality rest and off-duty time," says Robert Woodall, Peterbilt Assistant General Manager of Sales and Marketing. "For customers in applications where less weight and a shorter wheelbase are critical, the Model 579 with a 58-inch sleeper is a perfect match." The new sleeper includes a full-length door to help facilitate loading person- al gear and belongings from outside the truck. Additionally, full-length, integrated extenders mini- mize trailer gap and improve aerodynamic efficiency. "The sleeper was designed with extensive research and customer interviews to help ensure every inch of space was considered for a layout that was both practical and pre- mium," says Scott Newhouse, Peterbilt Chief Engineer. "Operators will enjoy the full- length mattress and abundant storage areas, including the cabinets, under bunk and back wall." Other features include a television mount, refrigerator and microwave shelf. Newhouse adds that offering the 58-inch sleeper in both low- and mid-roof con- figurations further increases its versatility to meet specif- ic application requirements, including flatbed and tanker operations. Peterbilt, PFC Offer Complimentary Extended Warranty Customers who purchase a new Peterbilt truck and finance through PACCAR Financial can receive compli- mentary extended warranty coverage. The offer is available until March 31, 2016, on trucks in dealer inventory or truck orders received by Peterbilt prior to Dec. 31, 2015. According to Peterbilt, the extended warranty includes: • Three year or 300,000 miles (480,000 kilometers) of basic coverage for Class 8 vehicles. • Two year or 150,000 miles (240,000 kilometers) of basic coverage for Class 5-7 vehicles. The additional warranty is valued at approximately $2,915 ($3,645 CAD) for heavy-duty trucks and approxi- mately $660 ($825 CAD) for medium-duty trucks. OOIDA, ALC Members Receive Rebate on New Peterbilts Members of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) and the American Loggers Council (ALC) can receive a $1,000 cash rebate from Peterbilt when they purchase a qualifying truck through a Peterbilt dealership. "Peterbilt and owner-operators have been synonymous for decades and we're proud to continue to support these valuable customers and the OOIDA organization," says Robert Woodall, Peterbilt Assistant General Manager of Sales and Marketing. "And from our first chassis in 1939 to the vocational trucks we build today, Peterbilts have been familiar sights on logging roads and forest job sites. "Peterbilt continues to embrace these important markets with these valuable rebate offers." Up to three trucks can be purchased during 2015 under the rebate programs, which covers trucks specifically designed for their respective markets.
