"The large printed format is still the best tool to see the big picture and quickly access state and province restrictions," said Stephen Fletcher, chief executive of Rand McNally. "We simplify drivers' lives by cross-referenc- ing the atlas pages and content to the software on our award-winning IntelliRoute TND truck-specific GPS devices and the new TND Tablet." The newest edition includes: • Updated U.S. state and Canadian province maps; • Revised "designated" highways showing the latest truck roadways; • Updated restricted routes, low clearances and weigh station locations; • A review of hazardous materials regulations; and • Fully updated state and province charts, including more than 500 changes to truck-specific state contacts, such as operating authority contacts, emergency police and vehicle registration. The section also includes road construction and conditions hotlines. – Aaron Huff Rand McNally updates, releases 2016 Road Atlas • ITS Canada, provider of ITS Dispatch, added new features to help its clients accelerate freight transactions and cash flow through a software integration with BAM Worldwide, a specialty provider of asset-based lending. Brokerage clients in the United States using ITS Dispatch now can request and inject funds immediately to process freight trans - actions, shorten "days-to-pay" with carriers and streamline back-office accounting func- tions, allowing them to boost credit scores and margins and increase carrier capacity. • McLeod Software, a provider of transporta - tion and logistics systems, and Logistical Labs, a cloud-based supply chain software provider, formed a partnership to integrate Logistical Labs' LoadDex pricing platform with McLeod's PowerBroker freight broker - age operations management system. The integration will allow PowerBroker users to access LoadDex via the Quick Quote screen to make more efficient strategic pricing and mode selection decisions. • MacroPoint, creators of freight tracking software designed to provide third-party visibility into load status, has integrated with CarrierWeb, a provider of real-time mobile communications, electronic logging and re - frigerated telematics technology for private and for-hire fleets. The companies say the collaboration enables their mutual carrier, shipper and broker customers to share real- time freight tracking information tailored to their unique service requirements. • Telular Corp. completed its acquisition of Reltima and GPS North America, two commercial telematics companies in the local fleet management market; terms were not announced. Reltima provides GPS fleet tracking and performance information, and GPS North America is Reltima's largest distribution partner. The companies now are part of Telular's SkyBitz division, which offers remote trailer and container asset tracking and information systems. Telular acquired SkyBitz in 2011. • Trucker Path expanded its shipping market - place platform with the public beta testing of Trucker Path Truckloads. Trucker Path began private testing of Truckloads in March with a limited number of fleets and owner- operators. Now, any truck fleet or operator, shipper or broker can access Truckloads via a Web portal or directly from the Trucker Path application. No transaction fee will be charged during the best test phase. • Lytx, a provider of video-based driver safety Continued on page 38 INBRIEF S tay Metrics announced the addition of a Health & Well- ness Training module to its Driver Engagement Platform that motor carriers use to increase retention, identify root causes of turnover and build driver-focused cultures. Every day, the trucking industry loses experienced drivers to health problems, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, that not only prevent them from passing U.S. Department of Transportation physicals but also from enjoying a higher quality of life. Stay Metrics has partnered with adult learning provider Mopi16 to develop a series of training modules designed to provide drivers with a basic education on healthy lifestyle choices. Each eNugget training module is designed to provide an engaging self-directed learning experience that incorporates gaming, animation, rewards, feedback and assessment of learning outcomes. The multimedia content is accessible on all de- vices to drivers who use the online rewards and recognition portal that Stay Metrics administers for clients. "Our research repeatedly shows that drivers who regularly engage with our online rewards portal are much more likely to stay with their carriers," said Tim Hindes, chief executive officer of Stay Metrics. "Training is an effective way to in- crease driver engagement that adds value to our clients and improves the industry as a whole." – Aaron Huff Stay Metrics adds health and wellness training Health & Wellness will be available for all clients by Sept. 1 and follows the addition of Safety Training modules to the Stay Metrics platform. The 2016 edition of Rand McNally's Motor Carriers' Road Atlas includes a 22-page mileage directory with more than 40,000 truck-route-specific city-to-city mileages.
