Fleets can see which drivers and vehicles are available for route assignments. Additional new features included in Roadnet Transportation Suite 3.7.1 are designed to allow fleets to: • Have routes automatically completed when using the Roadnet Telematics Adapter; • View a description for the original and new location substitutions; • Manage the assignment of employees from the locations notebook; • Prevent system lockouts in multiple-user scenarios; and • View license information about purchased product in the Administration module. "We've listened to user feedback and made significant and subtle platform enhancements," said Cyndi Brandt, senior director of product marketing and alli- ances for Roadnet. "We continue to recognize the market adoption of Software-as- a-Service as a delivery platform and are ensuring that our investments in Roadnet Anywhere can be leveraged by our on-premise customers." – Aaron Huff Roadnet updates routing, fleet management platform technology, announced that Carolina Casu- alty, a provider of commercial transportation insurance, is offering the Lytx DriveCampro- gram to its insured clientsat subsidized rates to allow them to achieve savings of up to 70 percent of the program's cost. • EpicVue, a provider of in-cab satellite TV packages for trucking fleets, announced that Western Express Inc. (CCJ Top 250, No. 56) is installing the systems in 1,600 tractors in the company's truckload dry van and flatbed divisions – EpicVue's largest single fleet installation to date. Nashville, Tenn.- based Western Express is planning to install the satellite antennas, DVRs and 24-inch flatscreen TVs in 150 to 200 tractors per week and plans to complete the installations by September. • Stay Metrics, a firm that specializes in driver retention, announced that Forward Air Corp. (CCJ Top 250, No. 58) selected and is deploy - ing its Driver Engagement Platform.Forward Air started using the platform in its Total Quality business segment and reported that within the first six weeks, itsdriver turnover rate had dropped by about 17 percent as cal - culated on an annual basis. The Greenville, Tenn.-based company plans to expand the program to its other operating divisions. • EpicVue announced that J&R Schugel Trucking (CCJ Top 250, No. 176), a New Ulm, Minn.-based employee-owned company, is installing its DirecTV package in more than 25 percent of its fleet. The service will be available for company drivers, lease- purchase drivers and owner-operators as a pass-along benefit for $60 per month and will be provided on a first-come first-served volunteer basis to 150 drivers. • Stay Metrics announced that intermodal provider C&K Trucking(CCJ Top 250, No. 185) – which serves customers in the East Coast, Midwest, Dallas and Memphis markets from 13 terminal locations with a mostly owner- operator fleet – is usingitsonline driver rewards, recognitionand engagement platform. Within the first three months, C&K saw its turnover rate decrease by 11 percent compared to the sameperiod in 2014, and since February, the Chicago Ridge, Ill.-based company has increased its fleet size by 12 percent. • ALK Technologies announced that Cargas Systems has integrated its suite of mapping and navigation applicationswith its Cargas Energy software to provide industry-specific route dispatch, navigation and map visu - INBRIEF H ighJump and PeopleNet announced an enhanced integration between HighJump's Prophesy dispatch transportation management software and PeopleNet's mobile communications system. The newly expanded interface is designed to allow load information to be sent automatically to the driver's in-cab device. The transmission includes the origin and address; the destination; cargo information including weight, pieces and pallets; the scheduled pickup date; and delivery date and time. Drivers can send and receive key logistical information such as actual arrival and departure times; bill of lading numbers; inventory measures such as number of goods and quantities broken down into weight, pallet and pieces; trailer number and more. The Prophesy Series Solution is designed to handle all aspects of a transportation operation, including dispatch, accounting, International Fuel Tax Agreement, U.S. Department of Transportation compliance, truck tracking, vehicle maintenance and more. – Aaron Huff HighJump, PeopleNet expand mobile dispatch interface Continued on page 40 Roadnet Transporta- tion Suite 3.7.1 is designed to deliver additionalvisibility to daily driving activities to help fleets route and dispatch trucks more efficiently. PeopleNet and HighJump say the interface is designed to allow dispatchers and drivers to focus more on their jobs and less on the legwork of communicating detailed load information.
