The new space, comprising an additional 24,000 sq. ft. (2,200 m 2 ), will provide not only greater storage capacity, but will also house the show- room and customer care department. The headquarters in Slušovice totals 37,000 sq. ft., and currently houses administration, production, the labora- tory, packaging and the warehouse. The move will ease the present burden on company headquarters, as well as considerably increasing Oxalis' storage capacity and, with its proximity to a major motorway bordering the neigh- boring town of Otrokovice. The improved strategic location will also benefit the company's dispatch depart- ment. Ltd., and says, "This concentrate is being tried in China, Japan, Taiwan, and Malaysia for making RTD drinks and as a flavor additive in various foods such as biscuits and noodles, and to make mild tea flavored tobacco for cigarettes. Various skin care products are being tried and commercial production will start soon." Learn more: www.lochantea.com INDIA New Use for Tea Flowers Rajiv Lochan, of Lochan Tea Ltd., is developing products flavored with tea blossom concentrates and will soon launch a range of RTD drinks, tea blossom flavored foods, and various skin care products such as moisturizers. In February 2013, the Chinese Ministry of Health licensed the use of tea flowers in the food industry, and blossoms harvested in Sichuan province are being processed in the Fujian food industry to make a concentrate. INDONESIA Harendong Tea Expands High up in the hills of West Java, PT Harendong Green Farm is expanding due to increased interest and growing demand for its premium organic tea. The farm is planning new plots and plantings to allow a 50% increase in production of its green, black and oolong teas. The company also runs empower- ment programs that train local farmers to cultivate their land organically. With more workers preferring to work in the city, Harendong's aim is to inspire villagers living close to their farm to connect with nature and understand the value of organic cultivation. They hope to build a close-knit community where people feel supported and appreciated and where everyone takes responsibility for the environment and the well-being of the next genera- tion. Harendong also runs a CSR program which was officially formed under Indonesian regulations and has a designated staff responsible for running activities and events. The tea company has provided the land and equipment for a new wellness center, which includes a prayer center and a sports center for badminton and soccer.
