The new devices, such as Eagle Energy Vapor, promise to deliver a burst of caffeine on the go to those who cannot spare the time to slowly sip a cup of coffee. It is part of an emerging category that seeks to make it easier for time-harried consum- ers to get their caffeine fix. Much like a Red Bull drink, the active ingredients are guarana (the caffeine-rich Amazonian plant), taurine, and ginseng. The device operates on a similar principle to e-cigarettes, which contain a heating element to transform the active chemicals into a vapor. The disposable inhaler, which costs US$8.99, lasts for about 500 puffs. Although each inhaler contains only two milligrams of caffeine, compared with about 150 milligrams in an average cup of coffee, the company says 10 to 20 puffs constitute a standard serving. This is not the first such product on the market: a British company called Energy Shisha introduced the Caffeine Vape Stix to the US market last year. Another company, Rush Energy, markets a disposable caffeine inhaler called the Vapor Stick that the company website says packs the punch of 15 energy drinks but without the sugar or calories. 15 Winston Products Featuring a New Function and Redesigned Packages Japan Tobacco Inc. India Relief for Two Firms Two tobacco manufacturers got relief from the Delhi high court, which recently restrained the state government from taking action against them. The manufacturers had challenged the government's ban on sellers and distributors of chewable tobacco from selling their product in New Dehli. However the court has not stayed the entire notification issued by the food safety commissioner of Delhi govern- ment on March 25 banning storage, sale, distribution, and packing of chewable tobacco products in the capital. Already the state government has agreed in court that no coercive action will be taken against those tobacco firms which are "similarly placed to petitioners". Delhi health minister Satyendra Jain had banned the sale, purchase, and storage of chewable tobacco from March 30, saying enforcement teams of the city's police as well as the health department have been asked to conduct surprise inspections across the capital to ensure that the ban is implemented. No such ban was ever enforced on ciga- rettes, however. US Green Tea Cigarettes Billy55 is a new company that has created a cigarette made purely of green tea with no nicotine. While new in America, it's been commonplace in Vietnam for at least a few decades. The cigarettes – referred to as Billy – come in regular and menthol varieties and are made out of tea originating from China and cost US$2.50 per pack. These green tea cigarettes are part of a 3-step, 90-day smoking cessation method developed by the company. The company says it's an "all-natural" program that includes taping five mustard seeds onto acupressure points. The idea is behind the product is to eventually "downgrade" the addiction to a habit.
