The inaugural two offerings are Double Double Oaked and Sweet Mash Redux. Double Double Oaked is the result of finishing mature Woodford Reserve Double Oaked for an additional year in its second, heavily toasted, lightly charred new oak barrel. Sweet Mash Redux has prominent fruit and herbal flavor notes, the company says. $49.99 (375-ml.) www.woodfordreserve.com WILD TURKEY MASTER'S KEEP Marking his first release since being appointed to Master Distiller in January 2015 alongside his father, Eddie Russell and Wild Turkey announces the release of Wild Turkey Master's Keep. In 1997, he stored extra barrels in stone warehouses, before eventually they came back to Wild Turkey's wooden warehouses. Barreled at 107 proof, the whiskey was 89 proof when dumped and 86.8 proof when bottled – a result of the time these particular barrels spent aging in stone warehouses. This whiskey is available nationally in small quantities. $150 (750-ml.) www.wildturkeybourbon.com ROGUE CHIPOTLE WHISKEY Rogue Ales and Spirits has announced Rogue Chipotle Whiskey, a small-batch whiskey distilled with Rogue Farms chipotle peppers. Once harvested by hand, the jalapeños are dried and slowly smoked over cherry and alder woods, the company says. The smoky chipotles are then used to brew the Rogue Chipotle Whiskey wash. More freshly smoked chipotles are added during the distillation process. After distillation, the Chipotle Whiskey is aged in Oregon Oak barrels along with one final addition of chipotles. $47 (750-ml.) www.rogue.com/roguespirits HIBIKI JAPANESE HARMONY WHISKY Beam Suntory has announced the U.S. in- troduction of Hibiki Japa- nese Harmony Whisky. It leverages the same malt and grain whiskies used in the first Hibiki blend of at least 10 malt and grain whiskies, aged up to about 20 years. Hibiki Japanese Harmony is amber colored, with a nose of rose, lychee, hint of rosemary, mature woodiness, and sandalwood, the company says. On the palate it tastes of honey, candied orange peel and white chocolate, with hints of mizunara (Japanese oak) on the finish. The ABV is 43%. $64.99 (750-ml.) www.beamsuntory.com JACK DANIEL'S SINGLE BARREL BARREL PROOF The Jack Daniel Distillery has released the brand's first- ever barrel strength offering within the Single Barrel Col- lection, Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof. Ranging in proof from 125 to 140, Barrel Proof is crafted using cave spring water from Jack Daniel's Hollow, proprietary yeast and a charcoal-mellowing process. The liquid ages in a charred white American oak barrels. The interaction of the whiskey, the wood and the environment creates nuances from barrel to barrel. Barrel Proof takes the flavor range of sweet vanilla and toasted oak. $65 (750-ml.) www.jackdaniels.com OLE SMOKY BLUE FLAME Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine has announced its newest flavor: Blue Flame. At 128 proof, it's their strongest moonshine yet. Clear moun- tain spirits have always been known as moonshine, but only the best of the lot is called Blue Flame, the company says. Blue Flame will be avail- able exclusively at Ole Smoky Distillery in Gatlinburg, known as The Holler, and their second outpost, The Barn at The Island in Pigeon Forge. $34.95 www.olesmoky.com
