Following up prior announce- ments by Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), Volvo Trucks North America and Navistar, Pac- car nameplates Peterbilt and Ken- worth both announced last month they also will skip the 2016 show. DTNA cited its preference to see the annual MATS show adjust its cycle to odd-numbered years, a move that would relieve confl ict for global truck OEMs also attending the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hannover, which is held on even numbered years. That sentiment was shared by the Paccar team, says Peterbilt Pub- lic Relations Manager Derek Smith. "Peterbilt is a Paccar company, a global leader in the manufac- turer and support of commercial vehicles, and the bi-annual MATS show strategy will be complement- ed by Paccar's participation at IAA, held every other year in Hannover, Germany," Smith says.
