NGWA Safety DVDs Are Now Available in Spanish The National Ground Water Association's safety DVDs Drill Safe, Drill Smart and Pump Safe, Pump Smart are now available in the NGWA Bookstore in Spanish. The items are an ideal way to train Spanish-speaking crew members to make sure they always practice safe habits when at job sites. Drill Safe, Drill Smart was first produced in English by NGWA in 2010. The Pump Safe, Pump Smart DVD was pro- duced two years later. Both have been popular since their debuts as they teach safe habits in an informative, but fun fashion. The two DVDs have now been professionally trans- lated so their important message can reach a Spanish-speaking audience. The drilling DVD covers falls, materials handling, chemi- cals, machine guarding, electrocution, safe site selection, per- sonal protective equipment, mobilizing for the site, rig setup, and blocking and leveling. The pump DVD covers job preparation, site safety assess- ments, figuring your load, personal protective equipment, site mobilization and setup, blocking and leveling, proper handling of the pump column and wire, pulling the pump, inspection, transportation, moving equipment, tools, lighting, and maintenance. Both the Spanish safety DVDs and the book Groundwater & Wells–Spanish will be available at the bookstore at the 2015 NGWA Groundwater Expo and Annual Meeting, December 15-17 in Las Vegas, Nevada. NGWA Certification Renewal Invoices Have Been Sent Those who have an NGWA certification expiring December 31, 2015 should have recently received their notice to renew. Certification renewal has three basic components for contractors: (1) continuing education, (2) an affidavit, and (3) a renewal fee. All requirements can be sub- mitted by fax to (614) 898-7786, by email to certification @ngwa.org, by mail to NGWA c/o Certification, 601 Dempsey Rd., Westerville, OH 43081. Check your mailboxes for an invoice containing the spe- cific requirements for your certification, or be in touch and staff can help assist anytime from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. ET. All renewal requirements must be received by NGWA as of the December 31 deadline to avoid the additional fee for reinstatement.
