Flomatic Creates New Check Valve with Adjustable Spring Closure Flomatic Corp. introduces a new Model 745ASC rubber flapper swing check valve with adjustable spring clo- sure (ASC). This swing check valve has an epoxy-coated ductile iron body with an encapsulated valve disc that is custom molded Buna-N and comes in 3-inch to 14-inch sizes. The model 745ASC is designed for high head, long pipe lines, multiple pump, and surge tank installations. The spring-assisted closure of the valve helps provide rapid closure through a short stroke of 45° and use of the field adjustable spring helps avoid slamming and at the same time allows the valve disc to be stabi- lized under normal flow conditions. www.flomatic.com Featured PRODUCTS Atlas Copco Launches New Compressor for Geothermal Drilling Atlas Copco is expanding its DrillAir range with a new compressor designed to meet the de- mands of the geothermal drilling in- dustry. The DrillAirX28 provides improved versatility and drilling speed in addition to a new en- gine, enabling users to drill two 200- meter holes in a single day at 30 bar of pressure. The X28 has a nominal flow of 28.3 cubic meters per minute, but crucially has a pressure rating of 30 bar. As the X28 is designed for geothermal drilling where back pressure is typi- cally higher than in water well drilling, the additional 5 bar of pressure helps to overcome this while giving enough flow to drive the hammer. www.atlascopco.com Solinst Provides Multilevel Groundwater Monitoring System The Solinst CMT multilevel system monitors multiple depth-discrete zones within a single borehole. The system is available with either three or seven chan- nels, with monitoring ports easily constructed at different depths in each channel. The three-channel CMT is 1.1 inches in diameter, and ideal for direct push installations. The seven-channel system is 1.7 inches in diameter. Both CMT systems are easy to in- stall and design flexibility allows port locations and monitoring strategy to be finalized right on site. Depth-discrete groundwater data provides assessors with a better understanding of the three-dimensional flow and distribu- tion of contaminants in the subsurface. www.solinst.com viding o r P The Groundwater A SM NGWA SM A Association g NG W A GW e 'r e We " . e need ts w oduc and pr vide the equip o who pr the people in the indus ts us wit onnec A c "NGWA c tio onnec c viding o r P " . t men y str th ons g NG A GWA ou! or y an do f c er of NG a memb t b ind out wha F g/M A.or NGWA.or A GW WA eing b ership • 8 emb M A m NGW w o Johnst einho B 800 551.7379 e 1988 member sinc wn, Ohio . o rilling C .
