commercial carrier journal | january 2016 33 technology • Vigillo, a provider of big data and data mining software, announced that its Carrier Select tool for freight brokers, shippers and insurance providers has moved from a downloadable application to a dynamic Web-based product and will continue to provide Compliance Safety Accountability scores. Carrier Select pro - vides real-time data for analyzing motor carrier performance to help make more informed choices. • FourKites expanded its real-time loca - tion tracking platform for brokers and shippers to cover truck drivers still using flip phones and other non-smartphones. Geofencing detects arrivals and depar - tures to notify users by email, either in the FourKites dashboard or their transporta- tion management software. Drivers also can snap photos of documents and share them, while the FourKites CarrierLink app allows them to turn off tracking with the touch of a button. • Route4Me has added an automat - ic check-in feature for drivers to its cloud-based route sequencing and optimization platform. The feature uses dynamic geofencing to eliminate the need for drivers to check in and out of multiple locations manually every day, which increases their safety while showing back-office personnel planned versus actual routes in real time, which Route4Me says provides tighter control over field personnel, virtually eliminating the need for more training and hours of nonbillable wasted time. • Dossier Systems added a new data provider for Dossier On-Board, a feature that provides odometer and diagnostic information transfer to its Dossier fleet maintenance management software. The first stage of the integration with fleet telematics provider GPS Insight is avail - able now to deliver unit meter readings directly into Dossier client databases. The second stage will include the automat- ic import and processing of vehicle diagnostic trouble codes to create a work request that can be converted to a repair order with a single click from the Dossier Daily Reminder Dashboard. • Aljex, a software provider for brokers, 3PLs and carriers, announced an inte - gration with transportation marketplace Post.Bid.Ship designed to allow Aljex customers to use Post.Bid.Ship without leaving their working Aljex pages. Post. Bid.Ship's online matching service protects proprietary information in the InBrief McLeod Software updates LoadMaster, PowerBroker features M cLeod Software is releasing Version 15.2 of its LoadMaster Enterprise and PowerBroker software systems as well as Version 15 of its DocumentPow- er Enterprise and FlowLogix business process management software. As part of the new product releases, the company expanded the core capabili- ties of the following tools: Rapid Alert Notification System detects critical events and sends instant electronic notifications to the appropriate people when they occur. RANS now is able to notify the right people when expected events have not occurred with its new Overdue Events function. Customers using the LoadMaster and Power- Broker systems now can define the time at which any specific event is considered overdue and who should be notified. The FlowLogix workflow manage- ment tool is used to create custom business process automation with- in LoadMaster and PowerBroker. It gives managers the ability to monitor and measure the business processes managed in the workflows, as well as individual employee performance in their assigned tasks. Logix Solutions is a set of pre-pack- aged business process automation solutions built with FlowLogix and Logix eForms. This growing family of products now includes e-Rate con- firmation, Billing & Settlement and Advanced Billing & Settlement, with more products on the way. Private Notification Network module has a new version of its Available Loads function, which makes selected loads visible to the broker's existing carriers via an e-mail. This new version makes it easier for carriers that are offered loads to simply click on a link in the email and be directed to a specific dispatcher based on lane-specific definitions for that load or geographic zones that the user can define. PNN also stores each carrier's preferences for the types of loads and specific geographies or lanes they prefer. Brokers can specify lane types by state, dispatch zone, ZIP code range and market area. Mixed lane types also now are supported for a carrier, and a new "exclude" option makes it easy to list the places a carrier does not want to travel. KSM Benchmark Report is now built into the base system for McLeod Soft- ware customers, making it easy for any company that wants to participate in the survey or benchmark their own operations performance and measure changes year over year. For the past two years, Katz, Sapper & Miller has partnered with McLeod Soft- ware to produce their Trucking Operations Benchmarking Survey based on data covering 215 data elements measured over a calendar year for a large number of U.S.-based truckload carriers. – Aaron Huff McLeod Software's FlowLogix is used to create custom business process automa- tion within LoadMaster and PowerBroker.
