Carriers can search for loads at any time, and those that have expressed interest in relevant lanes are notified automatically of available loads. • Omnitracs partnered with Drivewyze to equip its mobile computing platforms with PreClear Weigh Station Bypass ser - vices. The integration will allow commer- cial truck drivers to bypass weigh stations up to 98 percent of the time depending on operators' safety scores. • Cargo Chief, a provider of over-the-road domestic brokerage services, formed a partnership with Truckerline, a Web- based platform and mobile app designed to enable drivers to build professional profiles to help manage their careers and better represent themselves to prospec - tive employers, brokers and shippers. The Cargo Chief application will be available within the Truckerline platform, providing owner-operators with access to loads within the Cargo Chief network. • SaaS Transportation, a software and consulting services company, and Logisti - cal Labs, a cloud-based supply chain soft- ware provider, announced a partnership to integrate their complementary cloud- based supply chain software applications, allowing their mutual customers to access their less-than-truckload rates alongside all truckload and intermodal rates in a single platform. ALK Maps' new visualization overlays include: Traffic Incidents. View traffic occurrences, including acci- dents, roadwork and weather-related events, identified by an icon on the map, providing visibility of potential impacts or delays for current or future routes to improve asset utiliza- tion and operational efficiency with more accurate ETAs and rerouting of affected drivers. Drive Time Polygons. Generate and display polygon boundar- ies showing how far a driver can travel within an indicated length of time (maximum 120 minutes) from a specified origin or loca- tion. Drive time capacity insight within a given geographic area allows companies to ensure appointment times and service com- mitments are met while increasing mobile workforce efficiency. Elevation Routing. Ensure pressure-sensitive goods are deliv- ered safely, and prevent cargo damage by avoiding roads above a certain elevation. Fewer gradient road changes also may result in fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. Boundary Polygons. Highlight U.S. state and Canadian provincial boundaries, as well as U.S. county and ZIP code boundaries, allowing users to analyze regional data or view assets in localized groupings. – Aaron Huff HubTran to offer small-carrier back-office software T he HubTran technology platform for automat- ing transportation back-office work, currently offered for brokerage and factoring companies, will see a carrier version this year. The Web-based platform, offered on a per-transaction fee basis, helps with traditional invoice and document management by using sophisticated optical character recognition, ma- chine learning algorithms and intuitive workflows. HubTran automatically retrieves and identifies documents, extracts critical infor- mation and synchs with a company's operating system to eliminate cumbersome steps in the transaction-processing process, such as discerning bills of lading from invoices, finding load IDs, saving and filing documents and updating transportation management systems. Errors also decline, as HubTran automatically checks transactions against a company's business rules, related payments and vendor details. The service provides the capability "without the need for barcodes … or laborious templating," said Matt Bernstein, chief executive officer, and holds potential to be useful for both small and large carriers. With the initial non-carrier version, brokers and factors can look to achieve productiv- ity gains and significantly improved accuracy rates. Over time, that can translate to better relationships with customers and other partners given the ability to share transaction status and documents. – Todd Dills New map over- lays for ALK Maps are designed to provide added route planning and data insight for in- creased operational efficiency.
