The 50,000 square-foot facility opened on December 14 and is fully operational. Prior to the expansion, all finished goods were shipped from Milton. Now with the expansion, engines, parts and accessories will be available from British Columbia to allow customers to receive their orders faster. INDUSTRY GROUPS PARTNER TO LAUNCH COLOMBIA SHOW The International Council of Marine Industry Associations together with its members NMMA and Asociación Náutica de Colombia have announced plans for the International Nautical Congress of Colombia, April 27-29, in Cartagena de Indias, to promote the country's recreational boating industry. Attendees of the Congress will participate in two days of networking and education to learn about opportunities in Colombia. The Congress will also feature keynote speakers and breakout sessions as well as a marina tour to give attendees a glimpse of some of the existing boating infrastructure and facilities. "Colombia's recreational boating industry has tremendous growth potential and is an emerging boating market for the global marine industry," said Thom Dammrich, ICOMIA and NMMA president. "By attending the Congress, participating marine businesses can learn more about opportunities for recreational boating and the necessary steps to take to get involved." FREEDOM BOAT CLUB NAMED TO ENTREPRENEUR MAGAZINE FRANCHISE 500 Freedom Boat Club was named to Entrepreneur magazine's Franchise 500 list for 2015, rank- ing at No. 283. This is the third time Freedom Boat Club has appeared on the Franchise 500. "We are very excited by this year's ranking and achieving our highest position to date," said Freedom Boat Club President and CEO John Giglio. MARYLAND TRADE GROUP ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS The Marine Trades Association of Maryland has elected Eric Bradley, Oasis Marinas, to serve as president of the statewide organization. This is the first year of a two-year term as president of the association. "Maryland is the best destination for recreational boating and for working in the maritime industry, and there is much we can do to promote that fact."
