Southwire Co. announced Rich Stinson assumed the role of the company's presi- dent and chief executive offi- cer effective January 1. Southwire's fourth CEO in its 65-year his- tory, Stinson succeeds Stu Thorn who led the company's day-to-day operations for 16 years. A veteran of more than three decades in the electrical in- dustry, Stinson joined South- wire in October 2015 as the company's president, follow- ing his retirement in Septem- ber from Eaton Corp. He was responsible there for a large business group with seven divisions. The Water Research Foun- dation, a sponsor of research supporting the water commu- nity, hired Beate M. Wright as executive director of WRF's office in Washington, D.C. Hydro Resources-West Inc. announced the arrival of its newest drill rigs into the Cal- ifornia market. The new rig is a Schramm T200XD top drive rig which is equipped with dual-tube reverse circu- lation drill pipe (Matrix Drilling Products). The rig is ideally suited for difficult drilling conditions and can be applied to many other water well applications. The rig was built and certified with API standards (4F, 8C, and 7K). The rig package also in- cludes Schramm's LoadSafe pipe handler and power breakout. These features effectively make the rig a "hands-free" pipe handling operation. Atlas Copco drilling cus- tomers are receiving orders faster, thanks to a new Rock Drilling Tools Distribution Center in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The 18,000- square-foot warehouse opti- mizes the U.S. delivery system serving as a dedi- cated, centralized "replenish- ment point" for Atlas Copco customer centers and author- ized distributors. The RDT Distribution Center is part of a larger worldwide initiative to enhance customer service through making supply chain improvements.
