The handling of a performance vehicle may be different when the replacement tires are not the same speed rating. • Regularly rotating your vehicle's tires helps extend the life of the tires and saves time and money in the long run. • Inflate tires according to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations. • The penny trick: To check if the tire tread is worn out, place a penny into the shallowest tread groove with the top of Lincoln's head down. If the top of his head remains visible, then the tire should be replaced. • Inflation pressure in a tire goes up (in warm weather) or down (in cold weather) 1 to 2 pounds for every 10 degrees of temperature change. • Overloading the vehicle and tire builds up excessive heat in the tire and could result in failure. • Visually inspect the tires to make sure there are no nails or other embedded objects that could poke a hole in the tire and cause an air leak. • Proper alignment helps ensure that the vehicle handles correctly and helps increase the life and performance of the tires.
