From 1990 to 2012 title sponsors Nike, Buy.com, Nationwide, and now Web. com have paid for the naming rights to this U.S. based tour. Starting in 2013, the Web.com Tour now has the greatest significance it's ever had, as players who dream of one day playing on the PGA Tour no longer have the opportunity to earn their PGA Tour playing privileges through Q-School qualifying. Players now have to endure an entire Web.com Tour season and at the conclusion of the year, the Top 25 Money Leaders will earn PGA Tour status for the following season. What do Jim Furyk, Tom Lehman, and Zach Johnson all have in common? They are all Major Champions who paid their dues, cut their teeth, and learned how to play professional golf on the Web.com Tour first, before becoming PGA Tour superstars. Best known for his unorthodox swing, Jim Furyk spent a season on the Web.com Tour in 1993, notched one win, and joined the PGA Tour in 1994. Only utilizing one coach throughout his playing career, Jim and his father Mike saw all their hard work come to fruition with a major championship win at the 2003 U.S. Open at Olympia Fields Country Club. In 2010, Furyk won the FedEx Cup and PGA Tour Player of the Year despite only averaging 276 yards off the tee.
