Sprin Photographed by Primavera Studios Jessica Higgins and Clint Hutchens had a strategy: To plan a day that fi t them perfectly, they started with a few non- negotiable details. Th eir must-haves? An outdoor event, plenty of family and friends and…a burrito bar to satisfy them all! Th e pair set their sights on a May 7 wed- ding, planning to capitalize on the cheer that springtime in Wisconsin brings. Th eir venue, Baraboo's Expeditions Unlimited Adventure Centre, offered the best of both worlds, outdoor space for a classic cere- mony and an indoor space to party into the night. From there, the remaining pieces of the wedding puzzle fell into place. "Our entire wedding was fi lled with little pieces of the both of us," Jessica explains. Do-it-yourself projects added personal touches throughout the day. Hand-paint- ed signs guided guests to their destinations and natural stones were painted as place cards to point diners to their tables. Large cutouts of the couple's initials served as the head table backdrop while twinkling lights transformed the reception hall into a dreamy spring oasis. Even in a picturesque setting, it was the colors that stole the show. Using punchy orange and deep magenta, the couple sprinkled the day with these smile- inducing choices, showing how to go bold in just the right way. From head to toe, and both indoors and out, the bright accents brought the season to life while honoring the personalities of the bride and groom. As they ended the night by the light of sparklers, they knew their strategy had paid off. Jessica is the daughter of Lynn and Steve Higgins. Clint is the son of Anne and Dave Hutchens. The couple resides in Baraboo where Jessica is an educational assistant and Clint is the general manager of the Baraboo Country Club, a golf professional and PGA member. 52 BRAVA Magazine March 2012 A Cheerful Ce ebratio To a white gown from David's Bridal, an orange ribbon at the waist and bright jewelry added a punch of personality that was perfectly complemented by the groom's deep gray suit and bold tie.
