Revised electronic control system and advanced hydraulic technology that ensures the machine will always start in ECO mode, give the excavators a fuel savings of up to 11 percent over the predecessor machines. JCB has redesigned the machines with new engine compartments for increased cooling capacity. Two cab layouts are available: integral ROPS struc- ture or bolt-on FOPS protection. Th e front upper corner of the cab has been moved forward to allow fl at glass to be used in the front windshield. Th e win- dow split has been lowered by 5 inches, to a 70:30 split, for improved visibility to the digging area. A revised rear storage moulding behind the operator's seat gives access to a larger fuse compartment and provides the storage area for the front window lower section. Th e air vents at the rear of the cab have been relocated to increase storage space for the operator. www.constructionequipment.com Nuts & Bolts continued on page 51 IDA UNIVERSAL May-June 2012 43
