That's not to say "jewel toned" stones such as amethyst, ruby, emerald, and sapphire every really go out of vogue, but a longing for a return to the glamour temporarily lost to the economy has seen eyes turning increasingly to these more regal stones. Other richly hued options like the London blue topaz, gar- net, even the uniquely hued sugilite, are scene stealers one and all and showing up increasingly as alternatives to more premium stones, especially when larger pieces are in order. There's a sincerity to a stone colored so deeply you see noth- ing else; such pieces command attention wherever the wearer takes them.
