Irish oak enhances whiskey with notes of vanilla, caramel and chocolate, balancing with the rich, spicy, single pot still taste profile, the company says. At Midleton distillery, a selection of single pot still Irish Whiskey distillates, matured for between 15 and 22 years in ex-Bourbon casks, were blended together before going into the Irish Oak Hogsheads. The whiskeys were nosed and tasted each month until judged to be balanced with the right amount of contribution from the Irish oak. Bottled without chill filtration, and at cask strength, between 58.1 and 58.5% ABV. $269.99 per 750-ml. bottle www.Jamesonwhiskey.com GREEN SPOT CHÂTEAU LÉOVILLE BARTON Green Spot Château Léoville Barton is initially matured in a traditional mix of ex-Oloroso sherry, new Bourbon and ex-Bourbon barrels. It's then transferred into the ex-Bordeaux wine casks for between 12 and 24 months. Maturing Green Spot in the Château Léoville Barton wine casks provides an assortment of floral and wood charac- teristics on the nose and palate, which give way to a long, spicy finish that the company says is "reminiscent of the terroir in France and Ireland." Bottled at 46% ABV. $99.99 per 750-ml. bottle SVEDKA CUCUMBER LIME VODKA Svedka has expanded their line of flavored vodkas. The company has announced its new Cucumber Lime flavor. The vodka is a combination of zesty citrus and cool cucumber flavors. Svedka Cucumber Lime is available nationwide. $1.99 per 50-ml. bottle, $6.99 per 375-ml., $12.99 per 750-ml., $16.99 per 1-L., and $12.99 per 1.75-L. www.svedka.com KIN KIN is a white whiskey hailing from Los Angeles. A white spirit, KIN never touches a barrel, and has no solvent flavor or after- taste. It is a light spirit, distilled with spring water, and never ages. White whiskey can be shot, sipped, enjoyed on the rocks with a dash of lime, or mixed. KIN works par ticularly well in vodka- based cocktails, the company says. KIN is 80 proof, and avail- able at selectlocations around LA (in addition to a number of LA and San Diego bars). $41.15 per 750-ml. bottle www.kinwhitewhiskey.com DEEP EDDY PEACH VODKA Deep Eddy Peach is made with real peaches and Texas aquifer water, the company says, and produced in small batches at the brand's distillery just outside Austin, Texas. This vodka is gluten-free. It mixes well with simpler mixers like ginger ale, iced tea and lemonade. The company also recommends it in a classic Peach Bellini when paired with champagne or sparkling wine. Deep Eddy Peach is available nationwide. $19.99 per 750-ml bottle. www.deepeddyvodka.com MAD MARCH HARE POITIN Irish alcohol is more than just beer and whiskey. Poitin — pronounced 'put-cheen', named after the small pot stills its made in — is Ireland's answer to American moonshine. It's traditionally distilled from malted barley, grain, treacle, sugar or potatoes. Distilled in a copper pot still using malted barley, Mad March Hare Poitin is an 80-proof spirit. Mad March Hare launched in California, Massachusetts, Illinois and New York last Febru- ary, and Connecticut this March.
