In This Issue: Contributors Melinda Adams is City Forester for the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and as such is the team leader for the oldest and largest munici- pal forestry program in the State. She has been an ISA Certified Arborist since 1997, sat on the ISA Texas Chapter Board of Directors from 1998 to 2004, and served as its president from 2002-2003. She is also an active board member for the Cross Timbers Urban Forestry Council, holding various board positions since 2000. Greg Dahle is an Assistant Professor at West Virginia University. He teaches courses in arboriculture and urban forest management and researches how urban trees grow and survive envi- ronmental loads using bio- mechanics. He has worked as a commercial and utility arborist in California and is an ISA Board-Certified Master Arborist. Susan D. Day is an Associate Professor of Urban Forestry at Virginia Tech and the project leader for Urban Forestry 2020, a national initiative fund- ed by the National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council to exam- ine the urban forestry profes- sion. She conducts research in urban soils and their influ- ence on tree root growth, stormwater management, and other ecosystem ser- vices. Melinda Adams Susan D. Day Greg Dahle 10 City Trees James (Jim) Fazio is a profes- sor emeritus in the University of Idaho's College of Natural Resources. He is author of books and articles on for- estry, history, and commu- nication strategies and has worked as a part-time writer and editor for the Arbor Day Foundation since1986. Richard W. Harper is an Extension Assistant Professor of Urban & Community Forestry in the UMass Depart- ment of Environmental Conservation. An ISA Board Certified Master Arborist and Connecticut Licensed Arborist, Rick has over 15 years combined green industry experience both as a field technician and in Cornell University's Extension Horticulture Program. He serves as the MA State Representative on the ISA New England Chapter Board of Directors. Andy Hillman is the Northeast Regional Business Developer for Davey Resource Group, past SMA President, member of the MFI Teaching Cadre, and past President of the New York State Urban Forestry Council.
