THE LAKEFRONT FESTIVAL OF ART celebrates its 54th year in 2016, filling the grounds of the Milwaukee Art Museum with art and activities for the whole family Friday, June 17, through Sunday, June 19. This year, the festival wel- comes its one millionth visitor, who will receive a lifetime pass to LFOA and other prizes. State-of-the-art tents shelter the artists' booths, allowing one-on-one discussions with exhibitors, who include jewelers, painters, sculptors, photogra- phers and more. The festival also offers family-friendly activ- ities such as live music, refresh- ments and the PNC Children's Experience, featuring drama performances and hands-on art projects for kids of all ages. Adults can enjoy gourmet food and relax at the Umansky Motor Car Wine Garden or the Blue Moon Beer sampling area. For a change of pace, there's a sculpture garden created by Hawks Landscape to stroll through and a silent auction of artist-donated works to bid on. Admission to the festival includes admission to the mu- seum. The museum recently reopened its collection galleries, debuting dramatically trans- formed galleries and a new lake- front addition, with nearly 2,500 world-class works of art on view.
