and treacherous pot bunkers and like many links courses play is affected by wind coming off the sea. THE 9TH AT CROWBUSH There are numerous elevation changes offering panoramic views of the course and undulating fairways that require players to think their way from tee to green. It is a very long day if your driver is wayward as accuracy on many holes saves a lost ball. The most challenging hole in my estimation is #8. This is a tough par 3 surrounded by marsh and wind commonly playing a factor. My favourites has to be #15 a downhill par 4 with an elevated tee and beyond the green is the ocean. It is a visually spectacular hole and gives you a good shot at birdie. There is a well-equipped pro shop and a perfect after round treat is a cold beverage and a lobster sandwich on the deck upstairs overlooking the course. BRUDENELL'S 10TH SHOWING OFF THE BIG CATCH After golf head over to Charlottetown to the flagship store for COWS ice-cream. Known for its all natural ingredients this may be one of the best cones you've ever had. With over 32 flavours you are bound to find one to soothe your sweet tooth. Another must is the Anne of Green Gables Musical at the Confederation Centre of the Arts. This is a delightful lighthearted experience that will make even if the most masculine golfer hum a ditty. Other notable tourist stops include 1,100 km's of shoreline and fabulous beaches and red sandstone cliffs. Also check out some of the dozens of lighthouses that dot the coastal shoreline. If you want an iconic maritime picture, you need to include this in your album. A must do is a gluttonous stop at one of the many delicious Lobster Suppers on the island where you dine with plastic checkered table cloths in a barn type atmosphere and eat some of the most delicious potatoes, muscles and lobster you can ever get your hands on. Don't forget to wear your bib! STILLWATERS RESTAURANT AT RODD BRUDENELL RIVER RESORT PEI'S ENDLESS BEACHES PEI is a golf wonderland for visitors offering all of the amenities of a true vacation. It is perfect for buddies, families and couples. If you do enjoy golfing with your spouse consider signing up for the Couples Festival July 15-19, 2012. It is a fabulous way to meet couples from around the world who love this great game and to experience all the wonders of PEI (www.waggletravel.com). PEI is bucket list worthy. Period. Lisa is the 7-Time Canadian Long Drive Champion and ranked #2 in the world. First we have confirmed the renewal of WestJet as the presenting sponsor. This relationship guarantees our ability to maintain an all- expense paid trip for all club level winning teams. Second we have committed to continuing to hold the tournament at Crown Isle. From start to finish, it is a great venue. The only change will be a move to a date in late September to increase the likelihood of good weather. Third, based on feedback from competitors, the Canadian Final held at Crown Isle will now be a two-day, two-round tournament. With this we will now provide the following during the stay: two nights of accommodation (as opposed to the current one night), a $200 prize package for each competitor, an increase to two lunches with the one breakfast, a wine & cheese party and a gala dinner with drinks. It is clear that there is an optimal number to keep an intimate feeling to the tournament. 65 teams was simply too many to have teams get to know each other and to play in a reasonable time. For these reasons, there will be a maximum of 45 teams allowed to compete. Finally we have decided to change the name of the tournament to the "Canadian Pairs New Direction For Pairs Presented By WestJet." This reflects the idea that the winning pair will be crowned as Canadian Champions. While 2012 will continue to include only teams from Manitoba west, we are planning to expand into Ontario in 2013 with the long term intent of turning this into a true national championship. The winnng pair will now go to compete in a well established Pairs tournament that has been held at Pebble Beach and Spyglass for the past ten years. The idea here is that it is a reward for winning this Canadian Pairs and a chance to compete against other pairs in an international setting.
