New Grinder Wins Top Design Award
The European Center for Architecture has awarded
finum's newly-launched Bean Me Up™ coffee grinder
its prestigious 2015 Good Design™ Award.
The prize is presented annually by the Art Design
and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum:
Museum of Architecture and Design.
"Grinding beans right before brewing your coffee
makes all the difference in taste. This manual coffee
grinding design offers an effortless way to an uncom-
promised flavor and irresistible freshness," according to
inventor Christian Justus who demonstrated the device
at SCAA Atlanta.
The grinder holds 30 grams of roasted coffee,
enough for three cups. It features continuous adjustable
ceramic parts that can be dismantled and it is dishwasher
safe. Learn more: www.finum.com

Compact Drum Coffee Roaster
Behmor recently introduced its new 1600Plus roaster at
SCAA Atlanta. The customizable drum roaster uses
quartz heating elements to roast up to one pound of
green coffee. The interior lighting and quiet operation
make it easy to see and hear the roast stages.
The roasting drum is easily removed for cleaning
along with a chaff tray. The roaster weighs 25 pounds
and has 5 pre-programmed roast settings. The roaster
retails for $369.

Portable GIR Grinder With a Brain
This countertop grinder contains high-
performance LiFePo4 batteries with
enough holding power to grind three
pounds of coffee over a period of more
than two weeks.
"Not only does it tell you when you're
running low on beans, but it goes the
extra step. An IoT-connected sensor array
allows the grinder to monitor bean
freshness and auto-replenish," according
to makers of the GIR grinder.
The grinder features large ceramic
conical burrs, a stepless grind adjustment,
an anti-static catch, and a zero-waste direct bean drop to
minimize heat buildup and protect delicate flavor profiles.
This grinder has the quality of a large professional grinder
with a small footprint designed for home or travel. Pre orders
accepted. Learn more: www.gir.co/grinder/
