www.truckerbuddy.org 4 Trucker Buddy News K.C. Brau: Darryl Hicks Ambassa- dor Of The Year Trucker Buddy International has named K.C. Brau the Darryl Hicks Ambassador of the Year for 2016. K.C. is a long time Crete driver and was presented the award by Randy Schwartzen- burg, Executive Director during the Red Eye Radio event on Thursday night of the Mid Amer- ica Trucking Show. K.C. has served on the board of directors for eight years and is the out-going President of the association. "I can think of no one more deserving to receive the Ambassador of the Year award than K.C. Over the last eight years he as at- tended trade shows all across the country recruiting driv- ers and teachers, managing the other Ambas- sadors, leading the board in making important decisions about the future of Trucker Buddy. I can't count the hours he has contributed to making sure Trucker Buddy is strong and healthy." Randy Schwartzenburg, Executive Director The winner of the Ambassador of the Year receives their choice of a truck seat from the CVG Group including either a Bostrom or National Seating product. Thanks to the Commerical Vehicle Group for donating a seat to our winners each year. Indiana Drivers of the Year Batesville Logistics and Trucker Buddy drivers were honored at the 2016 Annual ITMTA Drivers of the Year Ceremony. On Saturday January 23, 2016, The Indiana Motor Truck Association recognized Batesville over-the-road driver, Leon Turner with the pres- tigious award of 2015 Driver of the Year. Earlier in the awards ceremony, Leon was recognized as Driver of the Month for November which put him in the running for Driver of the Year along with three other Batesville Drivers and eight other driv- ers from companies such as XPO Logistics, Wal- Mart Transportation, Venture Logistics, and YRC Worldwide. Leon becomes the first Batesville driver to receive this unique award. The picture below is of Leon receiving the Driver of the Year award with his wife and two of his daughters present. Leon was not aware that his daughters were in attendance until he was an- nounced as the award winner. Leon is a long time Trucker Buddy. Leon was chosen for the top award in large part due to his 5.1 consecutive accident free miles with no moving or non-moving violations during his 39 years of driving. Another factor included him being a Trucker Buddy Participant where he en- joys seeing the kids and tell- ing them about the places and things that he has seen over the years. Click Here to Read More
