Tection Extra is formulated with more active dispersancy to better manage damaging soot, which can wear away vital engine components. The sooted oil MRV evaluation is an API CJ‑4‑approved method to measure the yield stress and viscosity of soot‑affected engine oils. The test evaluates the oils ability to stay in grade and maintain shear stability while absorbing and dispersing soot. The Cummins ISM test is the API's industry standard for engine wear caused by oil loaded with soot.
