Tection Extra is formulated with more active dispersancy to better manage damaging soot, which can wear away vital engine components. The sooted oil MRV evaluation is an API CJ‑4‑approved method to measure the yield stress and viscosity of soot‑affected engine oils. The test evaluates the oils ability to stay in grade and maintain shear stability while absorbing and dispersing soot. As the chart shows, Castrol Tection Extra is capable of managing a level of soot much higher than the standard. The Cummins ISM test is the API's industry standard for engine wear caused by oil loaded with soot. As the chart proves, Castrol Tection Extra ensures reduced engine wear when compared to the industry standard.
