PROV E N C OL D S TA RT BE NE F I T S We subjected Castrol Elixion to low temperatures to compare its flow properties to conventional 15W‑40 oils. The result? Elixion started flowing faster than the conventional oils, lubricating vital components sooner and helping to prevent engine damage at cold start – potentially the most damaging time for engines. We also measured the electrical demand required to crank the engine to life in cold temperatures. Results showed Castrol Elixion 5W‑30 required lower power than the conventional 15W‑40 oil. The benefits? • Fewer no‑starts, reducing costs associated with jump starting and productivity losses • Improved battery life • Improved starter motor life Average Cranking Speed (RPM) at 32°F Castrol Elixion 5W‑30 requires less energy to start an engine, which can help reduce cold start damage and improve the potential for longer component life. Tests showed that the colder the temperature, the better Castrol Elixion 5W‑30 performed. 90 85 80 75 70 Castrol Elixion 5W-30 Cranking Speed (rpm) Castrol Tection Extra 15W-40 42p6 B A C K N E X T E 5 L A B C H E C K E N G i N E T R A N S M i S S i O N A X L E F i F T H W H E E L & G R E A S E S S U P E R C L E A N H O M E H Y D R A U L i C F L U i D S C A S T R O L E L i X i O N 5 W‑ 3 0
