Riel has worked for 33 years in the tractor business, starting as an employee at Burrows Tractor in Yakima, where he worked with Royal Schlepp. Schlepp left the Yakima store in 1987 when he bought the Sunnyside Ford Tractor dealership. Riel continued to work at Burrows, which was owned by Bill and John Kabrich. When John retired in 2006, Riel became a partner in Burrows Tractor, and early this year he purchased the Sunnyside dealership from Schlepp. All three locations specialize in modifying tractors for niche farming such as high-density fruit production, and the three work together on repairs and mainte- nance. Having three locations also allows Riel to have specialized staff. They are the only GPS-certified New Holland dealerships in Washington.
