The top 30 players on the FedEx Cup points list will gather at East Lake Golf Club Sept. 22-25 for the nal event of the season and it pres- ents a superb opportunity to watch these top players in person. Ticket prices vary by day, but every adult ticket gets up to four chil- dren, ages 18 and under, in for free with a paid adult. That's a great deal to take junior golfers along to see Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Adam Scott, Jordan Spieth and many other top names. For many it may be their rst time to see these superstars in the game up close and personal. So, if you have the time, load up the car and head east on I-20 to Atlanta. With just 30 golfers, and no cut, it's a small, intimate eld and the ultimate pressure-cooker for the FedEx Cup and the battle for the $10 million FedEx Cup prize. Also there will be the battle for the $1.485 million rst place check for the Tour Championship itself. East Lake is a course many of the top players know well as the Tour Championship has been played there every year since 2004 and three times before then beginning in 1998. Coca- Cola, based in Atlanta and Southern Company are Proud Partners in the Championship. I was fortunate to attend a media event at East Lake on Tuesday and got to play this very ne course. A word to all players: stay out of the rough at all costs! It may not look so menacing on television, but it is ultra thick and often just led to a hack out, even if but a yard from the fairway. The course is already in excellent condition with the Bermuda greens running fast and true. A lot of the infrastructure is being erected and it will be quite the spectacle, both in person and viewed on TV.
