Fleet News 72 | Overdrive | September 2016 By Dean SmallwooD SCHNEIDER'S 10TH RIDE OF PRIDE TRACTOR For the 10th time, Freightliner select- ed SCHNEIDER to receive the latest edition of the truck maker's Ride of Pride, a series designed to be rolling tributes to the U.S. military. The lat- est military-themed tractor showcases historical images representing all U.S. conflicts since World War II. Jon Ritscher of Crown City, Ohio, was selected as the driver of the 2016 Schneider Ride of Pride. Ritscher joined the Green Bay, Wis.-based fleet in 2013 as a driver in its Van Truckload NE Regional division. He served in the U.S. Army for eight years as a petroleum supply special- ist, completing two tours in Iraq. FACILITIES DAYTON FREIGHT LINES relocated its service center in Springfield, Mo., from a 15-door facility to a new $5 million building with 52 doors in nearby Strafford. The Dayton, Ohio-based less-than- truckload company also relo- cated its Minneapolis Service Center to a larger 71-door facility in Roseville and opened its second Tennessee facility in Nashville. ANDERSON TRUCKING SERVICE, a provider of spe- cialized transportation solu- tions, broke ground on a 20,000-square-foot addition to its corporate office in St. Cloud, Minn. The expansion will be ready in spring 2017. RECRUITING AVERITT EXPRESS pledged to add 1,200 military veterans to its driving force by 2020. The Cookeville, Tenn.-based less-than-truckload com- pany has been recognized as a Patriotic Employer by the U.S. Department of Defense's Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve program.
