The competition, a partnership between OSHA, MSHA and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, seeks submissions on technology ideas that address: • Enhancing employer train- ing and improv- ing effective use of hearing protection. • Alerting workers when hearing pro- tection is not blocking enough noise to prevent hearing loss. • Allowing workers to hear important alerts or human voices while remaining protected from harmful noise. Submissions are due by Friday, September 30, 2016. The top 10 en- tries will be selected on Friday, Oc- tober 7, and the winning participants will be invited to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges at an event in Wash- ington D.C on October 27.
