"It's a test that measures how many calories you burn," explains David Dade, dietitian at CoxHealth Fitness Centers. "The simple test takes 30 minutes and tells you your metabolic rate, calorie and protein needs, and body fat percentage." During the test you breathe into a mouthpiece connected by a tube to the MetaCheck device. Oxygen use is measured to determine how many calories are being burned. The cost is $40 for CoxHealth Fitness Center members and $50 for non- members. You can also pair this test with a nutrition consultation for an extra fee. Call 269-3282 to schedule an appointment.
