New Products & Packaging x Brown-Forman has debuted a line extension to the iconic Southern Comfort brand with the launch of Southern Comfort Bold Black Cherry, a mixture of Southern Comfort with whiskey and cherry flavors. The new flavor comes on the heels of the successful introduc- tions of Southern Comfort Lime in 2010 and Southern Comfort Fiery Pepper last fall. Backed by a national ad campaign, the 70 proof Southern Comfort Bold Black Cherry is available across the U.S. for a suggested retail price of $16.99 for a 750 ml bottle. x Kahlúa is adding three new flavors to its premi- um, 200 ml Cans-To-Go pre-mixed cocktail portfo- lio: Kahlúa Iced Espresso, Kahlúa Iced Mocha and Kahlúa Cinnamon Spice. Available in four-packs of 200 ml cans as well as single serve formats, the launch of Kahlúa Cans-To-Go is being sup- ported at retail by custom-designed POS materials including floor racks, floor and door decals, case cards and extenders, shelf talkers and gravity feed units. Kahlúa Cans-To-Go will have a suggested retail price of $2.50 for a single can and $9.99 for a four-pack. x Heaven Hill Distilleries is just launching Mariposa Agave Nectar Liqueur, available first in major U.S. markets. Mariposa is a highly mix- able, artisanal liqueur made from select agave nectar combined with 100% agave tequila and premium vodka, the company says. It is enhanced with hints of rose oil and gardenia. Named for the Spanish translation for "butter- fly," Mariposa highlights the Monarch butterfly that is indigenous to the Tequila region of Mexico. Mariposa Agave Nectar Liqueur is 60 proof and has a suggested retail price of $24.99 for a 750 ml bottle. x Crown Royal XR's latest release in the company's Extra Rare Whisky Series is a blend from the LaSalle Distillery. This second release of XR includes a small reserve of the final batch of whiskies saved from the distillery, which was closed in 1993. Crafted by Master Blender Andrew MacKay, the 80 proof Canadian whisky is available for a suggested retail price of $129.99 for a 750 ml bottle. x Bacardi USA is introducing D'USSÉ V.S.O.P. Cognac to the U.S. market. D'USSÉ is made from cognacs at the famed Chateau de Cognac in France, with more than two centuries of cognac-producing tradition. The selected cognacs are aged at least 4 years in French oak barrels, resulting in a full-bodied, round taste profile, accent- ed by spices, almond, cinnamon and honey notes. Now available in a few select markets, D'USSÉ is rolling out nationally in September with a suggested retail of $44.99 for a 750 ml bottle. 44 • Beverage Dynamics • www.adamsbevgroup.com • July/August 2012
