PRODUCTS & PACKAGING Fever-Tree, the line of all-natural, premium cocktail mixers, has debuted a new expression to its line of six existing products: Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic, which combines refreshing floral elements to premium tonic water, and is said to particularly enhance vodka cocktails. What sets Fever-Tree apart, the company says, is its use of natural ingredients sourced from the best locations available, such as ginger from Nigeria and the Ivory Coast and real quinine from the Congo, with no artificial preservatives, sweeten- ers or flavorings used. Mediterranean Tonic joins Fever-Tree Tonic Water, Naturally Light Tonic Water, Bitter Lemon, Club Soda, Ginger Ale and Ginger Beer. Fever-Tree mixers are available in four-packs of 200 ml bottles ($5.99 suggested retail) or a single serve 500 ml bottle ($2.99). Highland Park Single Malt Scotch, known for its extensive range of 12, 18, 25, 30 and 40 year old expressions, has debuted Highland Park Thor, a limited-edition, ultra-premium single malt Scotch meant to be the first in a series of limited- edition releases called the Valhalla Collection. The new 16-year-old, cask strength (104.2) proof Thor is fin- ished in Oloroso Sherry casks and boasts rich flavors, some smokiness and soft sweet floral notes. Available in select major markets, Thor retails for $199 per 750 ml bottle. Imported by Remy Cointreau, it comes in an unusual wood- en frame, reminiscent of traditional Viking ships. The new flavor is fruit forward and offers a refreshing taste with flavors of peach combined with notes of silver tequila, as well as lime highlights, the company says. The 25.4 proof White Peach Margarita boasts only 100 calories per 4 oz. serving. It comes in 750 ml bottles with a screw top closure, and is currently priced at $14.99 every day and $12.99 promotionally. Last year, Knob Creek, the small batch bourbon from Jim Beam, released a Single Barrel Reserve Bourbon. Now, the brand has again added to its line- up with the release of Knob Creek Rye, a handcrafted whiskey featur- ing a distinct rye spiciness combined with vanilla and oak flavors. Bottled at 100 proof, the superpremium Knob Creek Rye is a worthy addition to the increasing number of ryes being introduced into the U.S. market. The new product is rolling out nationally this month at a suggested retail of $39.99 for a 750 ml bottle. Re Midas, from Veneto producer Cantina di Soave, has debuted new packaging for its Soave and Corvina wines. The new design elements include a taller bottle shape, satin texture labeling with fine, hot- gold stamp detailing and a Stevlin screw- cap closure for freshness. Re Midas wines are brought into the U.S. by MW Imports.
