ROLLOUTS 10 AGGREGATES MANAGER / November 2016 New generation of fine classification technologies Metso introduces new fine classification technologies, the Metso MHC Series Hydrocyclone and the Metso UltraFine Screen. It says the hydrocyclone optimizes process performance, offers supe- rior wear component design, and improves ease of maintenance. It can handle classification du- ties ranging from primary grinding to fine regrinding across the full range of mineral types. The ultrafine screen is said to provide accurate and cost-effective separation technologies through reduced energy and water consumption. It directly classifies particles by size via the physical dimensions of the screening media aperture. The improved separation efficiency and resulting reductions in material handling and comminution energy reduces operating costs, Metso says. Metso | www.metso.com Telescopic chute minimizes stockpile segregation Sandvik Construction introduces its WE6000i telescopic chute, which has been de- signed to be fed by conveyors with belt widths less than 31.5 inches. The manufac- turer says its unique features minimize dust emissions, improve product quality, and reduce stockpile segregation. A key feature is that a vacuum is created by the mate- rial flow inside the chute. This reduces the requirement for service, as well as filtra- tion systems. The simple design of the chute can be adjusted by varying the number of conical segments based on the height of the stockpile and the feed conveyor. It can be operated from the control panel, via a PLC with automatic level sensor, or manually via remote control. The chute senses its height above the material stockpile and automatically adjusts, minimizing the risk of dust emissions. Wire winches are equipped with limit switches. Sandvik | www.construction.sandvik.com Mobile inclined screen offers quick set-up and tear-down The Terex Finlay 674 is a compact, highly mobile inclined screen that is said to offer rapid set-up and tear-down times. The new screenbox features three inclined decks, with the top and middle sized at 12- by 5-feet and the lower sized at 10- by 5-feet. The screenbox features quick wedge tensioning on the top two decks, access holes, and a bottom deck hydraulic tensioning system to reduce the time for screen media change outs. All four conveyors hydrauli- cally fold for transport. The fourth product 'oversize plus' conveyor can work at varying angles. A 42-inch belt feeder, with hydraulic variable speed drive, is fitted to the machine as standard, while a 10.5-cubic-yard hopper is also standard. The unit is powered by a Cat C4.4 air-cooled engine. Terex Finlay | www.terexfinlay.com New line of buckets offers reduced cycle time, better material retention Volvo Construction Equipment rolls out three new buckets for its L110-L350 wheel loaders: The Volvo Sand bucket, Volvo Rehandling Flat Floor bucket, and the Volvo Rehandling bucket. Volvo says the buckets will allow operators to reduce cycle times through more efficient material handling and increased ma- terial capacity — reducing fuel consumption by up to 10 percent, depending on applications. Bucket shape, a balance floor back ratio, and counter-sunk holes are said to make the buckets easy to fill. Spill guards are designed to deflect materials and protect the linkage, while convex side plates promote material retention. Volvo CE | www.volvoce.com
