The patent-pending Level Assist technology automatically levels the plant once it has reached the desired height, usually in less than five minutes. The automation system monitors all vital func- tions of the crusher, allowing it to maintain optimum production without operator intervention. The optional removable feed conveyor cartridge — with a roller track design for enhanced mobility — allows feeding to happen at any angle. The plant is available for the P200, P300, and P400 models of the cone crusher. Superior Industries | www.superior-ind.com Excavators offer shorter cycle times, improved fuel efficiency Case Construction Equipment rolls out two new crawler excavators to its D Series lineup: the CX490D and the CX500D. The models are designed for heavy excavation work and replace the CX470C. The 362-horsepower CX490D weighs 109,300 and has bucket digging force of 55,500 to 60,700 foot pounds. The CXS500D, which also has 362 horsepower, weighs 111,800 pounds and has bucket dig- ging force of 64,500 to 70,400 foot pounds. Both are Tier 4 Final machines that use a combination of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) technologies. Each is built to provide significant operational gains, including cycle times of up to 10 percent faster, improved responsiveness and multifunctional controls, and greater fuel efficiency. An electronically controlled hy- draulic pump and larger control and solenoid valves boost breakout forces, increase lifting strength, and improve responsiveness. Case Construction Equipment | www.casece.com Loader improves fuel efficiency over predecessor Komatsu America Corp. introduces its WA270-8 wheel loader. Powered by a 149-horsepower, Tier 4 Final SAA6D107E-3 engine, the loader uses up to 3 percent less fuel than its Tier 4 Interim predeces- sor; 3 percent in V-cycle loading and 2 percent in load-and-carry applications. A new selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system reduces Nox emissions and is designed to last the life of the engine, while more than 98 percent of the diesel particulate filter re- generation is performed passively, with no operator activity. New, more comfortable and heated seats are in the cab. Komtrax telematics and a monitor provide key machine metrics. Komatsu America Corp. | www.komatsuamerica.com
