AGGREGATES MANAGER / December 2016 33 VOLVO CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT INDUSTRY'S BIGGEST ARTIC Volvo's A60H articulated hauler is designed for heavy hauling in severe off-road applications. The 60-ton truck is powered by a 16-liter engine and delivers 663 horsepower and 2,360 foot-pounds of torque. The truck is based on the same design and layout as the smaller trucks in Volvo's lineup, but offers a 44.5-cubic- yard capacity. The A60H features intelligent systems including Matris, CareTrack, and an on-board weighing system. With a matched drivetrain, automatic drive combination — including 100-percent differential locks, all-terrain bogie, hydro- mechanical steering, and active suspension — the truck also focuses on operator comfort to address all aspects influencing productivity. The surface excavation machine al- lows the operator to work precise seams of material and work along a highwall. A hydrostatic motor mounted on one side of the cutting head provides direct drive power to the drum, while giving the machine the ability to excavate highwalls up to 80 degrees on one side. The cutting head can cleave up to 21 inches deep and 144 inches wide, re- ducing stone to 6 inches or less while reducing fines. The 600-horsepower unit weighs in at 150,000 to 250,000 pounds, depending on boom options. Vermeer Corp. | www2.vermeer.com VOLVO CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT EXCAVATOR OFFERS HIGH PRODUCTION RATES The EC750E is Volvo's largest North American excavator to date. The 75-ton unit was designed to deliver heavy lifting power and high productivity without sacrificing fuel efficiency. The machine is said to deliver up to 15 percent higher productivity with 5 percent more fuel efficiency than its predecessor, the EC700CL. The excavator is powered by a 516-horsepower, Tier 4 Final, Volvo D16J engine. When combined with larger diameter boom cylinders and increased working pressure, the unit delivers a 7-percent increase in digging force and a 4-percent boost in hydraulic flow. A new range of buckets — including general purpose heavy-duty, and extreme-duty designs — also contributes to in- creased productivity by offering up to 10 percent more bucket space. Volvo Construction Equipment America | www.volvo.com CDE GLOBAL PRIMARY SCREENS FEED WASH PLANTS The R2500 primary screen, from CDE Global, is designed to optimize feed to wash plants and reduce the need for an operator to feed the process- ing plant. It has a maximum feed capacity of 551 short tons per hour and combines a feed hopper, screen, and conveyors in various configurations. It is available with either a belt feed or an apron feed. Galvanized 16- by 5-foot screens include a patented side wall technology that eliminates welding and is said to result in a stronger, lighter screen that produces the same acceleration as traditional screens while using less power.
