The 2016 harvest reports (page 32) indicate excellent results nation- wide, including improved drought conditions in California (meaning more water availability, at least in the Northern part of the state), record yields for Washington and a much- needed respite from the severe win- ter storms that plagued the East and Midwest's growing regions in the recent past. The good news overall comes well received. Our main goal has always been to provide content that you find useful and interesting. If you're attending Uni- fied this year, please take some time to stop by our booth (#1024) and let us know if there's something you'd like to see, to provide feedback on something you've read or just to say hello. Robert Merletti Owner/Chairman Hello and happy new year to all our readers of Vineyard & Winery Management magazine. This marks our 43nd year of publishing, and we couldn't be more excited about it. Each year, we strive to provide the most timely, original and thorough information to help your business thrive, and 2017 promises to deliver the engaging content you expect. We'll uncover the newest technolo- gies, latest trends and most outstand- ing individuals to share their stories, challenges and triumphs. According to our most recent wine industry survey of last year's Unified Wine and Grape Symposium exhibi- tors (you can find the results on page 74, followed by a list of this year's exhibitors), things are looking up for the industry. The majority of respondents reflected a positive outlook for busi- ness over the coming year, which is a great way to start things off. We intend to keep that positive momen- tum flowing by focusing entirely on the magazine side of our business. Some of our newest additions have received some great feedback, including our recently launched craft beverages report, which appears each issue and focuses on those involved in crafting beer, spirits and beyond. While our main focus is on the wine industry in particular, the special section was created as a response to wineries' and industry suppliers' growing interest in expand- ing their business horizons. Another thing we're excited about this year is our new Wine Wise Mar- keting columnist, Lee Hodo. Lee is a PUBLISHER'S PAGE Comments? Please e-mail us at feedback@vwmmedia.com. Happy New Year! 20 17
