Custom Rigs 38 | Overdrive | January 2017 T his 2005 Peterbilt 379 was bought in Connecticut and retooled to what it is today by Travis Sancken, his father James, and the team at Sancken Trucking of Grayslake, Illinois. The 275-inch wheelbase is about the limit of what is practical for their operation, delivering fuel to often- congested and tight stations in the Chicago city limits, among other area locales. Most of the 25-truck fleet is made up of daycabs, but Sancken and his father made this sleeper their By Todd Dills Sancken Trucking, based in Grayslake, Illinois, hauls fuel to BP and Shell sta- tions around the Chicago area with this custom 2005 Peterbilt 379. Because of the truck's length, the company has to work with Chicago police to shut down roads to back into some of the stations. Flagship of the fleet The Milwaukee TA did the truck's unique paint job, which includes the green frame and green accents on the red cab. The chrome was put together by Travis Sancken, his father and friends.
