Fleet News 46 | Overdrive | January 2017 By Dean SmallwooD USA TRUCK ENHANCES PAY, BONUS PACKAGES USA TRUCK announced an enhanced driver pay package, including higher rates for detention and short haul, as well as higher performance bonuses of up to 5 cents per mile each month. Performance bonuses previous- ly paid quarterly now are paid monthly and apply to over-the- road solo and team drivers, as well as owner-operators. To be eligible, drivers must complete all miles with no preventable collisions. Also, driver team members for the Van Buren, Arkansas- based company now receive free access to XM Satellite Radio in all units. AVERITT EXPRESS student drivers are eligible for a $5,000 tuition assistance bonus payable at $150 per month after the driver completes orientation. The bonus is part of the Cookeville, Tennessee-based less-than-truckload company's overall benefits package. Incoming student drivers can attend Averitt's finishing school, which teaches recent driving school graduates com- pany-specific safety procedures and maneuvers. BUSINESS MORRISON EXPRESS, an El Segundo, Calif.-based logis- tics, transportation and supply chain management provider, is expanding its U.S.-Mexico cross-border capabilities and logistics offerings in El Paso, Texas, by strengthening its mul- tilingual communications capa- bilities on specific shipments to facilitate improved and expe- dited customer service. AIM INTEGRATED LOGISTICS established a third-party logis- tics division that initially will focus on freight brokerage, with service offerings such as truckload brokerage, expe- dited services and specialized hauling.
