www.PowersportsBusiness.com DIGEST effective Jan. 1. Lukaitis joins the company as the chief operating officer and will work alongside company president and founder Dave Kim- mey to expand the brand both domestically and worldwide. Lukaitis brings more than 25 years of powersports business experience to the company. A lifelong member of the industry, Lukaitis managed the parts and accessory departments at several powersports dealers before taking a role as the global brand man- ager for Bel-Ray Lubricants in 2010. During his time at Bel-Ray, Lukaitis was instrumen- tal in taking Bel-Ray as a "forgotten brand" to one of the most popular and prominent brands in the industry once again, returning it to the prestige it once held in the 1970s and '80s. For the last year, under Bel-Ray's new corporate umbrella, Calumet Specialty Products Partners, Lukaitis managed shows and events for both Bel-Ray and its sister company Royal Purple, keeping both brands at the front of their respective mar- kets at shows and events around the world. He writes about powersports marketing on his personal site scottlukaitis.com and will contribute his thoughts as a blogger in 2017 to Powersports Business. "I'm looking forward to this amazing opportunity with Dave and Engine Ice," said Lukaitis. "The turn of the calendar to a new year is significant and a symbol of change and improvement for both myself and Engine Ice. Already recognized indus- try-wide as the leader in high performance coolant and antifreeze, Engine Ice is a glob- ally recognized brand, and I look forward to helping it grow to the next level in 2017 and beyond. " "When I heard that Scott had his position at Bel-Ray vacated, a brand I have looked up to since my own racing days years ago, it was an automatic reaction to reach out to him immediately," said Kimmey, president of CycleLogic Products, Inc. "I have known and been friends with Scott for years, and I saw the great job he did at Bel-Ray over the last few years, so he's proven his value, and our ability to secure his services moving for- ward is truly an example of being in the 'right place at the right time.'" GASGAS OFFERS AMA MEMBERSHIP WITH BIKE PURCHASE The American Motorcyclist Association welcomes the support of GasGas North America, which will provide an AMA mem- bership along with every new 2017 GasGas enduro or trials motorcycle purchased in the U.S. "The support of companies such as GasGas North America to the AMA and our members is good for the association and good for motorcycling," said AMA vice president of Industry Relations and Business Member Programs Jim Williams. "Work- ing together, we are all in a better position to fulfill the AMA's mission to promote the motorcycle lifestyle and protect the future of motorcycling. We look forward to working with GasGas going forward and welcoming all new GasGas customers to the member- ship ranks of the AMA." GasGas says the program is designed to help support the AMA's membership efforts and to get every GasGas owner started off on the right foot as a member of the largest motorcycle enthusiast membership associa- tion in the country. "We are very proud to offer a one-year AMA membership with the purchase of one our motorcycles," said Scot Harden, chief marketing officer of Torrot GasGas North America Inc. "We strongly believe in and support the mission of the AMA and can think of no better way to help grow member- ship than by offering the membership free of charge to our customers. Our sport has never needed the AMA more than it does today as we are under constant attack by regulatory bodies and environmental groups. In addi- tion to protecting rider's rights, the AMA offers an impressive list of membership ben- efits including free roadside assistance, a sub- scription to American Motorcyclist magazine and a host of other discounts and rewards". The membership program is available to those who have purchased a new 2017 GasGas model since Dec. 1. DUNLOP CELEBRATES 78 CHAMPIONSHIPS AT MINI O'S Of the 81 Supercross and Motocross titles up for grabs at the Thor Winter Olympics, better known as the Mini O's, Dunlop riders took home 78 championships at Gatorback Cycle Park in Florida, including 14 titles won by Team Dunlop Elite riders. This year marked the 45th running of the Mini O's, a combined Supercross and Moto- cross competition, and this year the Super- cross portion of the competition was held on a brand new, longer track configuration. Dunlop supported this major amateur racing event with tire service for the riders, tire discounts, sticker giveaways and more. Just like last year, the Dunlop Geomax MX3S was the tire of choice for both the Supercross and Motocross events thanks to its versatile performance over a broad range of terrain conditions. Team Dunlop Elite riders led the cham- pionship charge, with Haiden Deegan winning five championships, Carson Mumford and Matthew Leblanc each winning four titles and Jett Reynolds taking one championship. Team Dunlop Elite alumni riders Sean Cantrell, Han- nah Hodges, Garrett Marchbanks, Jalek Swoll and Challen Tennant together took 11 titles. "Mini O's has been a Thanksgiving tradi- tion for families for many years, and Dunlop has been here helping amateur riders achieve their best results for decades," said Rob Fox, Dunlop's Amateur Motocross Support manager. "We congratulate all the riders and their families for their achievements at this year's Mini O's." PIAGGIO FOUNDATION HONORED The Piaggio Foundation has been named a winner of the Corporate Art Awards for "Best Involvement of Social Media." The awards identify, foster and promote excellence in collaboration between the business and the art world on an interna- tional level.
