DEI SUPPORTS GARAGE-GIRLS BIKER MAKEOVER Heat control specialists Design Engineer- ing (DEI) joins a growing chorus of spon- sors to support the Garage-Girls Ultimate Biker Makeover. The Garage-Girls Ulti- mate Biker Makeover contest, now entering its ninth year, offers the opportunity for one well-deserving winner to get "hooked-up" with products and services from major sup- porting sponsors. Contestants are encouraged to submit an essay of 600 words or less describing why they are most deserving in need of a biker makeover along with a photo of the entrant with their motorcycle. Four finalists are selected and one winner. "Bringing on DEI as a sponsor is a great fit for our program. They have some cool items that any biker makeover should not be without," said contest organizer Sara Liberte. "We all know of riders with worn tires, brakes and busted parts and thought this isn't safe. The purpose of the Garage Girls Ultimate Biker Makeover is to hook up one deserving rider with the gear they need for their body and their machine." "We are excited to be partnering with Garage-Girls for the Ultimate Biker Make- over. The makeover contest is a fun way to connect to our female customers and learn about the specific heat challenges they expe- rience," said DEI Powersports manager Brian VanKoevering. ABUS HIRES COMPANY TO MONITOR MAP PRICING ABUS Mobile Security, Inc. has hired MAP monitoring service provider ORIS Intel to support its minimum advertised pricing policy for its line of motorcycle locks. ABUS first implemented a MAP policy in 2011 and has continually looked at ways to improve enforcement. "As ABUS continues to grow in the United States, the need for a more effective monitoring solution has become apparent," said ABUS MAP manager Matt LeMoine. "The Prowl Software from ORIS is an excel- lent upgrade, and the continuous monitor- ing allows us to improve the process for all of our retailers." "Like ABUS, ORIS is committed to help- ing companies deliver the best possible cus- tomer experience, so we're thrilled they're leveraging our platform to enforce Minimum Advertised Price across channels," said Pamela Springer, CEO of ORIS Intelligence. "Our near real-time monitoring enables ABUS to respond quickly to violators, so they can get ahead of the domino effect of price matching. And by enforcing MAP, ABUS can better support their resellers to ensure they are preserving their brand experience." AKRAPOVIC LAUNCHES NEW EXHAUST FOR YAMAHA BIKES Akrapovic has launched a new Racing Line (titanium) exhaust system that is destined to give the Yamaha MT-09/FZ-09, Tracer 900/FJ-09 and XSR900 more response and improved power and torque while being com- plimented by a deeper and sportier sound.
