2016 What Drivers Want Survey © 2016 Randall-Reilly 50 | P a g e Pay hourly for all pickups and delivery's and offer more home time to drivers but also an incentive bonus for those drivers who stay out on the truck since they don't have a home That's a tough? Some drivers just do the bare minimum to keep a job, so if u payed him or her more $ they may just work less? I think if a driver always runs hard as they can u pay them more $$ that makes sense. . I would give all the answers to my drivers Thanks More Home Time Higher pay I'd only employ seasoned drivers and let them drive posted speed limits. more miles between rests equals more money earned each day instead of driving less miles more hours worked for less pay i.e. 70 speed limit for state 10 hours driving equals 700 miles in day at 1.00 per mile 700.00 dollars made versus a governed truck at 60 mph same values equals only 600.00 dollars earned who makes more? It would have to be most of the things above offer free online education courses to better themselves Leased owner-operators Could only choose one but they all apply The problem is so multi-faceted that one thing alone will never fix it. Treat my experienced drivers like partners and give bonuses for yrs on the job The problem with that answer is, some people don't want as many miles as they can drive all the time. I think a more flexible dispatch would do more. When I first started, all I seemed to get was Ohio. I would have rather gone to the east coast...imagine that. Others wanted Ohio. Problem was...dispatcher said "YOU GO WHERE I SAY!" That created lots of grief and contention among drivers and office personnel. As stated..."FLEXIBILITY is the key." MAKE LESS RULES....we ALL should know when to pick up the toilet set....n remember to put it back down Raise pay and more home time Should be paid salary regardless of miles Starting 85K year. Let drivers choose their own loads. And their own off time. Pay is just a small part of the equation, respect from the shippers and receivers about our time waiting, using restrooms etc. Those say a lot When they come in for a job and do not dress for it or in a professional manner they would not be hired. Hire those that show up and present pride in themselves along with skills. They in turn will have pride in the company .I will institute a dress code policy. In or with the truck wear the colors of the company. Hat optional. This is called respect offered and given. You can't do one thing only. You have to do a few of these. Instead of giving us 1 choice you should have let us pick 3 and put them in order. AND get pay for non-driving duties Offer a couple different loads at a time, instead of here's a load take it or leave it, It's not just "one" thing. Again there is no one answer for this question. all the above but good luck with that ba/ha/ha/ha/ha/ha/ha/ha Answered only to continue survey.
