IN PROFILE Sky High Aerial Photography BY JEFF SUTHERLAND There is a new bird flying over golf courses across western Canada these days... Peter Flynn and Sky High Aerial Photography specializes in low-level aerial photography using a 21-foot, tethered, unmanned airship. Over the past 4 years, Sky High has completed aerial photography for more than 20 courses in BC and Alberta from Crown Isle to Kananaskis. What they offer is a turnkey solution for golf courses to capture the beauty of the course at a unique perspective. Ideal altitudes to showcase the best perspective of a golf course is anywhere between 50-200 feet, heights unattainable by any other conventional aircraft. The main difference here is that this can all be done without disrupting play. The blimp system is noise free and without any moving parts, is able to capture spectacular crisp aerial imagery. Says Flynn, "To start, we discuss with the golf course all desired locations to be shot. Once we arrive on site, we begin capturing images from around the course at various angles and altitudes. we can do it all." Once we have shot all desired locations, we bring the blimp down and develop a web gallery for the client to view images that were shot that day. It's that easy and our clients are always amazed at the quality of our images. From clubhouse to signature holes to a full course tour, Packages start at a very reasonable $1,000.
