Lupe is the winner of Good Fruit Grower's annual iPad drawing. Lupe and her husband, Rogelio, grow apples and cherries on a 70-acre farm in Sunnyside, Washington, that they've owned since 1992. OSU's Extension Center in Hood River has new director S teve Castagnoli has been named director of Oregon State University's Mid-Columbia Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Hood River, Oregon. He assumed the position April 1. Castagnoli is an associate professor in OSU's Department of Horticulture and has been an extension faculty member for almost 17 years. Scientists at MCAREC specialize in research important to pear, cherry and apple growers. The mission is for research scientists and extension faculty to develop a solid base of objective scientific infor- mation that addresses the needs of the fruit industry of Oregon as well as the Pacific Northwest.
