florida.HIGH.TECH 2012 11 The Student Experience researcher For most students, the stereotypical college experience is a mix of parties, part-time jobs and those all-night cram sessions before a big exam. For student researchers participating in the Florida High Tech Corridor Council's Matching Grants Research Program (MGRP), their time is spent in university labs analyzing samples to isolate mononuclear blood cells, on the waters of the Gulf testing environmental variables impacting sea surface temperatures, and inside clean rooms sterilizing medical devices using non-thermal electrical plasma.
