PRODUCTS & PACKAGING Marc Mondavi has launched a new line of wines
Frïs Vodka is re-launching its brand with a new range of flavors and an excit- ing new bottle design. Invented in Scandinavia, Frïs is created through a patented freeze-distillation process that allows impurities to be frozen and extracted, resulting in a smooth, "pure" vodka. The distinctive new bottle features a chiseled ice-grey exterior differentiating it from the packaging of traditional vodka brands. Frïs is also debuting two flavors: Frïs Citrus Freeze and Frïs Orange Freeze. Best enjoyed ice-cold, the Frïs re-launch is being supported through branded one-case bins including case cards with other POS
materials, such as shelf talkers, posters and recipe neck- ers. The brand also announced that another flavor, Frïs Whipped Freeze, will be introduced in 2013. Frïs comes in 375 ml, 750 ml, 1 liter and 1.75 liter sizes with a sug- gested retail price of $10.99 for a 750 ml and $19.99 for a 1.75 liter bottle.
called The Diving Rod. The Divining Rod 2010 Santa Lucia Highland Chardonnay is distinguished for its pineapple aromas, citrus flavors, freshness and roundness, according to Mondavi. Unoaked, it matches well with food and can stand on its own. The 2010 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon includes small amounts of malbec, cabernet franc and merlot, and is said to have an appealing taste of dark fruit, texture and tannic structure. Available nationwide, the two wines are $17-$19 retail.
The New Amsterdam spirits portfolio has added two new vodka flavors: New Amsterdam Red
Berry, featuring strawberry and red rasp- berry aromas, and New Amsterdam Peach, highlighted by its sweet peach flavor. Both vodkas are distilled five times, and at 70 proof, the suggested retail price is $14.99 for a 750 ml bottle.
