Diane McNamara, registered nurse, guides Amy Morrison into a hyperbaric medicine chamber for a two-hour treatment. Healing help Dr. Larry Chase, medical director of the center, treated Cash's wound with special ointments. "It healed up great," says Amy, who lives in Ozark. Around this time Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer, and began chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Dr. Larry Chase "After I finished my treatments, I noticed a small bump below my right breast," says Amy. The area was biopsied but never healed. "It was the size of a pinhole," she says. Amy made an appointment with Dr. James Gibson, a general surgeon, who told her she had an infection. Surgery was scheduled to remove a small section of her right breast. After surgery Dr. Gibson referred her to Dr. Chase, at the CoxHealth Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care Center. Amy began hyperbaric oxygen therapy five days a week. During therapy she was placed inside a clear chamber for two hours. "While in the pressurized chamber, the patient breathes 100 percent oxygen," explains Dr. Chase.
